Stuff I use
These are things I have used that have produced results.
Hammer products are some of the best sports nutrition products on the market today. Their gels, supplements, even clothing are all top quality and just straight-up work. Save 15% on your first order by clicking that thing over there.
GU gels are my favorite because some of them have caffeine. They are also some of the best tasting. I use several brands because, let’s face it, you have to be able to eat 10 of these a day without getting sick of the taste. They make special Holiday flavors too (Mint Chocolate and Vanilla Gingerbread). I buy these by the case.
Dudes, if you have ever had a need for these, you know that 10 bucks is a small price to pay for a long run free of nipple chafage. Yeah, I just made up that word. 10 pairs to a pack for about 10 bucks. That’s a dollar well spent. Your nips will thank you.

I use Team Beachbody products for cross-training because I hate working out in a gym. I can pop these in the dvd player and do what I need to do in my house. Check out Team Beachbody for workout programs like P90X, Insanity, RevAbs, Slim in 6, Turbo Kick, etc… Also home of the WOWY (Work Out With You) virtual gym. Helps build accountability and every workout is a chance to win a daily prize, up to $1,000. Click for FREE membership.
If you want the no-nonsense, science based, clinically proven way to transform your body, here it is. Dr John Berardi is a legend in the sports nutrition world. Use this plan year-round and for the rest of your life. If you are interested in body composition improvements, this is the authoritative work.
Chi Running is one the best books I have found to help run injury free. It breaks down the mechanics and provides lots of pictures and visualizations to help get the form down. I credit this book for getting rid of my shin splints forever.
Cyclo-Club is for the everyday cyclist. Cycling specific workouts, training plans at a low cost. A great resource to help you work on your bike skills.
Matt Fitzgerald writes a lot of the running plans for Training Peaks. He knows what he’s talking about. This book concentrates on form and moves on to the mental aspect of running and how to cooperate with your brain to produce the best results.
A favorite of iron man competitors and triathletes. For those interested in a clean, organic nutrition plan that focuses on optimum performance through diet and nutrient timing.
